I Go To The Rock

I woke up early, before the sun was up, my spirit heavy. My heart in the pit of my stomach.

So I turned on my iPad and went to Crosswalk.com, where I could surround myself with God’s Word.

I did several keyword searches, and the verses below are some I plucked amongst many.

They are far more eloquent and powerful than anything I could ding out in a blog today.

Let God’s Word soak in.

Fix your eyes on Jesus. He is our point of reference, our Rock Who does not change. I CAN praise today!

Acts 1:7
And He [Jesus] said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power.

Romans 13:1
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God : the powers that be are ordained of God.

I Timothy 2:1-4
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved , and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

John 24:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth , give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled , neither let it be afraid.

Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear ? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

II Timothy 1:7
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Isaiah 9:6-7
And the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor , The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Ephesians 1:19-23
And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe , according to the working of His mighty power, Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named , not only in this world, but also in that which is to come : And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Psalm 9:10
They that know Thy name will put their trust in Thee: for Thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek Thee.

That’s my prayer for you, church family. His joy, His perfect peace in the midst of disappointment. We are not defeated and we must not live as such. Our Rock will forever stand!

  1. Thank you for this reminder. I must say I prayed a lot about this election, asking God to strenghthen the country’s faith in Him. I kept feeling in my spirit that He was saying He needed to light a fire under the apathy. I didn’t want to believe that meant what I thought it did, but now I know. God Bless!!!

    • You’re right, Connie. God is still calling us to pray as diligently as before, perhaps even more! Our joy will always be there, regardless of how dismal things appear. And HE will receive the glory, no matter what happens!

      Thanks for your comment–Love you!
