A Season of Gifts

December’s monthly blog theme is “gifts.” I’ve got a couple of wonderful guests lined up this month to post their thoughts on gifts of all kinds. . . There are also some things stewing on the backburner from me, perhaps another short story in a Christmas setting. If you are busting to share a story or anecdote of your own about Christmas/gifts, please contact me and we’ll work you in. Always love those stories you share!

We may be drowning in the commercialism of Christmas, but let’s look UP and OUT. Let’s promise afresh to seek the Christ of Christmas.  Let’s set aside more time for the things that really matter, our faith, our family, our friends. . . God gave us to each other for a reason!

So include someone in your festivities who may be alone this year. . .we are told this is the time of year when more people consider suicide out of loneliness than any other time of year.  Take a good look around.  God will point out a dear one in need of a little love, and then enable you to extend “a cup of water in Jesus’ name.” You’ll both be blessed!

Let’s love on each other more richly, let’s worship more freely, let’s celebrate the God Who Came To Earth more jubilantly! May our Lord Jesus be glorified!

Lookin’ up,
